Faridabad (National Prahari/Education Desk): CBSE Capacity Building Progarmme on Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies was organized at Faridabad Model School, Sector-31. Dr. Anshu Arora, Principal, Amity International School, Sector-43, Gurugram and Dr. Neha Sharma, Principal GD Goenka Public School, Ghaziabad were the resource people for the session. The dignitaries lit the lamp to start the programme.
Dr. Neha Sharma commenced the workshop by asking if the teachers knew anything about learning outcomes and is it executed in their schools. Relevant subjects like Teachers Learning Cycle, Define intended learning outcomes, Instructional practices in classroom, Measure learning outcomes, Reflection were explained. The session revolved around the major difference between the learning outcomes and learning objectives, understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy of Education, its objectives and outcomes. This was followed with an Activity Based Learning experience for all the attendees. She motivated the participants to actively participate and share their view points and experiences.
Dr. Anshu Arora then took forward the workshop by explaining the ways of identifying domain and cognitive levels of educational outcomes. She then conducted an activity where she asked the participants to rate the domain and cognitive level of educational outcomes. Teachers from various schools participated in a host of activities and gained insight regarding the teaching methodologies and skills, abilities, attitudes that students are expected to attain by the end of a learning experience or program of study.
The session concluded with felicitation of the resource persons by Director Principal, FMS, Mr. Umang Malik. He also thanked the attendees for their active participation during the session.
